Maggie Siff (Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy ) stars as Anna Baskin, an Emmy-winning actress whose offstage life has virtually been erased by that of her television character. Held back by a role she no longer wants and harboring a Ritalin addiction, she puts her career on hold and returns to Brooklyn, where she got her start, to find herself. But upon reuniting with members of her old theater troupe, she discovers that they’ve had turning points of their own on the long, hard road of adulthood.
As examinations of both feminism and psychological disorders, director Elisabeth Subrin’s previous short works culminate gracefully in this naturalistic, poignant feature debut, which serves as a catalyst for tackling by turns the issues of sexism in Hollywood, gentrification, mental health and the meaning of life in all its uncertainty.
