Gretchen Skogerson is a New York-based video and installation artist known for her pristine, coolly minimalist work. Her previous videos explore the wastelands and wreckage of modern industrial landscapes; her installations and object-based work use light as a sculptural form.
She has exhibited internationally at venues including: 2008 Whitney Biennial, New York Film Festival’s Views from the Avant-Garde, Rotterdam International Film Festival, Wexner Center for the Arts, the Mattress Factory (Pittsburgh, PA), Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Curtas Vila do Condo (Portugal) and deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum (Lincoln, MA). Her artist residencies include: the MacDowell Colony, Ucross, Skowhegan and Yaddo and a German Fulbright.
She teaches in the Film/Video dept at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston, MA
